Learn how to use partitions to track camper and staff progression and status.

Campminder uses the concept of "partitions" to explain how records go through different progressions and status. Campers cycle through these partitions as their families go from inquiring about camp, to applying, to enrolling.

Note: Only camper and staff records are contained within partitions, and are different from the record status of parents, donors, and alumni.

Camper Partitions

These partitions categorize records logically. As families progress from inquiring about camp to applying and then enrolling, their camper records move through these partitions.

With each new season, records return to Enrollment Management and ideally shift back to Camper Management when re-enrollment occurs.

When an individual applies to participate in a session, their status shifts from Lead Management to Enrollment Management. Finally, upon completing all necessary enrollment steps and being accepted into a session, the individual's status changes to Camper Management, marking their active session participation.

Lead Management

A non-seasonal partition which consists of prospects who have never, or not-yet attended, camp. It's non-seasonal because if you're a lead, you're a lead forever until you apply for camp. Individuals enter this partition with manual entry by the camp, or when an applicant completes an online inquiry form for the camper.

Enrollment Management

A seasonal partition, it consists of anyone who is eligible for camp. This includes campers who have attended camp in the past, leads who have now applied, and anyone who enrolled and has now withdrawn. It's called enrollment management because it has to do with the process of enrolling campers.

Camper Management

A seasonal partition which consists of any camper enrolled in at least one session for the current season. While a camper may be both enrolled in a session and a prospect for a later session, his or her record will only be found in Camper Management while enrolled.

Staff Partitions

Staff Recruitment

This is a non-seasonal partition which consists of applicants who have not yet been hired. Staff members enter this partition by submitting an online application or having their record manually entered into the system.

Staff Management

This is a non-seasonal partition which consists of applicants who have been hired. Staff members enter this partition by having their status is changed to ''Hired.''

Note: For all other types of records, there are no partition dividers. You're a parent of a camper, a donor, alumni, contact, etc., with no partition. While a parent might progress from being a PL (parent of lead) to PA (parent of applied camper) to PE (parent of enrolled camper), these are not considered separate partitions, only statuses.
