In Module settings, you can make key decisions for your camp administration, including choices about Camper Grades, Ages, Default Lead Reminders, and Note Preferences. These simple yet crucial options will shape how you manage your camp.

Module Settings
Navigate to Admin > Camper Setup > Module Settings. Select the appropriate radio button for how your camp defines ''Camper Grade.'' This is an important choice.
Your camp needs to decide if the grade a camper has completed or the grade they're entering into is important.
Note: Campminder focuses on grades more than ages. It's set up for summer camps, so you need to think about the grade in terms of the school year before or after the summer. This choice is crucial because it impacts reports, rules, and many parts of the system. Once you set this, it's best not to change it.
Grade Completed: The grade in the camper's record shows the grade they just finished. For example, if it's July, they completed grade X in May/June.
Grade Entering: The grade in the camper's record is the one they will start after summer. If it's July, they're going into grade X after summer. This is more common, as a camper who just finished fourth grade is often considered a "fifth" grader.
Select the appropriate radio button for how your camp computes 'Camper Ages.'
💡Tip: We recommend using 'Start of child camp season' so the camper will be the correct age on the first day of camp, rather than the several months before camp when the parent is signing them up.
Example: using the 'Current date' option, If I'm filling out the camper app on November 1st, and my camper birthday is December 1st, the camper record will show his age as 10 until Dec 1st (when he turns 11).
When you manually create leads, the system prompts you to set a reminder for yourself (and others). While you can configure this on a case by case basis, you can set the default actions here for added leads.
Every time you add a note, you can choose settings for that note. If you commonly add the same sort of notes over and over, you can choose some defaults here to save yourself some time.
Edit Camper Grade Settings
If you update your Camper Module grade settings (for example, switching from grade completed to grade entering), that change won’t retroactively update existing camper records.
Camper profiles will still show the previously recorded grade, and new calculations will only apply going forward. To avoid confusion during enrollment:
Add a note at the top of your application letting parents know to double-check and update their child’s grade.
Manually update grades for returners using a user report if you'd prefer to handle the changes yourself and ensure accuracy before applications go out.
