Test the Camper Application

Learn how to test your application before opening it up to submissions

We recommend thoroughly testing your application before announcing its availability to parents.

Since there's no private testing mode, briefly set your camper app to "live" status to test the setup. This precaution prevents others from accessing your application before you're ready.

​Test the Application Through Proxy View

The following instructions are tailored for Chrome on a PC. They may vary slightly on Firefox or a Mac, but the basic steps remain the same.

Start with your seasonal application turned off. Then, open a new application link, turn the application on briefly to begin testing, and turn it off again right away to prevent others from accessing it.

  1. Navigate to CampInTouch > Setup > Links.

    Note:

    • It’s very important to only use the Preview Only Camper Application link for

      testing.

    • Use the Copy Link button to get the live registration link to share with families by email or on your website.

  2. From this first tab (Campminder system) navigate to CampInTouch > Forms > Camper Application . Your tabs should look like this:

  3. On this tab, you're going to click the blue Edit link to turn on the camper app. Check the box to turn on the camper application for your current season.

  4. Click the green Save button. Scroll to the bottom of the page and click the green Save Changes button on the camper application page.

    💡Tip: be quick with these next few steps.

  5. Change over to the CampInTouch tab you opened with the link. Hit CTRL-R (COMMAND-R on Mac) to refresh the page. You should now see your season in the dropdown. Choose it.

  6. Switch back to the App tab on the left and edit the same link. Uncheck the Include Season setting and click Save. Then, click Save Changes on the app settings page.

    Note: Your app is now OFF. However, you can return to your active camper application tab and continue testing it as usual.

By doing this, your app will only be "live" for about 10 seconds, allowing you to complete an application. Anyone else visiting during this time will see a message saying no seasons are available.
